| Pensacola is a city in the western section of Florida's panhandle. The population of the city is nearly 55,000 and the Escambia county MSA has a population of nearly 450,000. The settlement of Pensacola by the Europeans dates back to the 1500s--one of the earliest in the country. Temperatures range from an average low of 42 in winter to an average high of 90 in the summer. Average annual precipitation is 64 inches.
